Q: Lipoma on nose ?

I have had pretty bad acne in the past, and now have pretty much cured it. It took a few years, but I found the right combination of things: 1 - Eating right, and cleansing the body. 2 - super industrial strength teen acne wash. (made by clear and smooth. Get on EBay.) There has been one strange thing that has plagued me since my late teens though.

I am young (20yr and 155 pds. ) and very healthy, but I have what I believe is a lipoma on the left side of my nose. (pretty bad spot) For a long time I didn't know what was wrong. I thought it was a pimple, but there was no pain and nothing visibly wrong with the skin itself. It would swell up over time, and especially in the heat.(this would slightly change the shape of my nose. This obviously leads to insecurities) The symptoms meet the lipoma description. (it is whitish and soft like fatty tissue. It covers a definable area. No pain.)

I tried many things to get rid of it. Recently I went on the master cleanse thinking by living on the bare minimum, that my body would just dissolve it if it is just fatty tissue. I had no fat on before, and during the cleanse I lost 10 pounds of muscle. It had no effect on the Lipoma. I was looking at 3 different herbal formulas sold on the internet with a money back guarantee (Limpotab - Polirex - Lipmotin) , but they are companies outside of the US, and they have never responded to inquiries that I had. I still want to give one a try.

The only thing that has given any help is castor oil. I would put it on the spot at night. Some type of acid in the Castor oil would keep it from growing (It definitely grows, which is obviously uncomfortable to me since I can feel it, and looks bad.) Castor oil never makes it go away though.

I don't know what to do. It is in such a bad spot that it seems like what ever might work for it would not even get to it. Surgery is out of the question. I think something topical to eat away at it without eating away my skin would give the best results. I wanted to get a doctors opinion if I could. ( I have actually went to a doctor and she prescribed retin-A. I took that for enough time to see that it does nothing for me except make me more sensitive to the sun) I was also looking at blue light and red light therapies.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. doctor

Well, before you can treat the condition, you'll need a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist.

A lipoma is a benign tumor composed of fatty tissue. The most common kind (known as "superficial subcutaneous") is located just below the surface of the skin, although lipomas are found anywhere in the body that fat is located. The tendency to develop lipomas is generally hereditary, although some doctors believe that minor injury may trigger their growth.

Do you have the money or insurance coverage required to visit a dermatologist?

Why isn't self diagnosis good enough? (I'm almost positive it is a lipoma, which does run in my family. My mom had many lipomas in the past, but never on the nose.) What I want is alternative solutions to surgery. I have gone to a dermatologist, and she gave me retin-a. (didn't work)

Another doctor (a plastic surgeon) could not see anything. It just so happened that when I went, it had shrunk down a bit, and it was hardly noticeable. What the latter did was push and prod on my nose and said he could not feel anything. Now, if a lipoma is fatty tissue how can you expect to feel much of anything. It is not that big, so it is not like it noticeably bulges out of the side of my nose like in the picture above. On top of that, it is on the side, right above the nostril so it is like in an indented part of my nose. The point is, it is nothing that looks abnormal to other people, they would not know any different. This does how ever effect me and the way I look, so I'm not trying to minimize it's importance, just trying to give an accurate picture.

Actually, when I went to these doctors I hadn't done any research for conditions that matched what I seen. Maybe if I suggested that it might be a lipoma it would have been different.

Even if a doctor would confirm that it is a lipoma or anything else, what will they do?
I'm looking for treatments that get rid of lipomas or fatty tissue without damaging the skin.

I found out through forums like this that castor oil may help reduce things like that, and it worked for a while. Now, I'm looking for a better solution and so I put it out there to see if anyone had knowledge or experience with this.

Thank you for your reply Rooter. Smile
Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think that the problem is that you'll need to get a diagnosis before you start a treatment plan. Otherwise, you could do more harm than good.

Surgically removing the lipoma, liposuction, salve and steroid injections are all options for removing the fatty tumor but does nothing to address the original cause of the problem.

Sometimes a change in diet will help. It's not a quick fix ... but you can eliminate processed foods, eat preservative and chemically free foods and plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. If a change in diet doesn't work, then a natural herb, homeopathic remedy or other natural supplement might be necessary to boost up the kidneys and liver function and balance the endocrine system in order to get rid of all the lipomas.

I honestly don't think I can be very much healthier than I am now. I'm 20 years old and am in great physical shape. I work-out. I eat mostly organic food prepared well. I take Essential 7 powder. I feel great.

Now, that said, I wasn't always like this. I think the cause of the problem was the toxic mercury poisoning that I got when I was about 11. That lasted till about 16 or 17 when I went through kelation to remove the heavy metals. I read that having heavy metals can cause lipomas. It makes sense to me that that was the cause. I remember having it since I was 14 or 15.

Now I have recovered fully from that, besides the lipoma still being there. I was thinking, may be because of where it is my body doesn't see it as any threat or abnormality, and so just leaves it alone. (I don't know)

I probably will get another diagnosis.

Let say for sure it is a lipoma. Do you think something like - phosphatidylcholine, or - collagenase would dissolve it? Maybe if it was injected into it, or perhaps topicaly?
Are there any herbs that has worked for anyone? Has anyone tried Lipmotin? I am thinking about trying that.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Thanks

I think that traetment for lipomas is generally via extraction or a small incision. Lipomas generally grow to a limited size and usually are not painful. Surgery to treat lipomas for cosmetic reasons is usually successful, with a recurrence rate for most lipomas at less than five percent. I couldn't find any related supplements or products for dissolving the tissue. I'd suggest that if you want to change the appearance that you consult a plastic surgeon.

on second thought
Actually, I found something that is working. Juicing organic carrots, celery, apples, parsley, and other fresh vegetables. You have to drink it immediately and then drink another glass of water to dilute such a concentrated shot of juice. I juice every day, and it's been a week or now. It it now almost gone.

I'm sure few people would believe in this. I remember being very skeptical some time ago. I am not the only person who knows though. My mom successfully reduced the size of the lumps in her breast by juicing carrots and celery. You have a be diligent with it of course.

I think I know exactly what you're experiencing, I had the same thing. A lump on my nose, just to one side, that felt and appeared exactly as you describe. My GP took a look at it and misdiagnosed it as a kind of cyst. He referred me to a dermatologist.

The specialist realized it was not a cyst and suggested to fully remove the area of skin (about 5-7 mm round). So we did that. After a biopsy, it turns out he was right, it was a type benign skin cancer most likely due to sun exposure. After about a month or two the area had healed, and now years later there is hardly any sign of a scar.

I recommend you get it looked at by a specialist.

wow
wow! So how noticeable was it? Did the doctor have trouble noticing it?

Also what was the name of the cancer? I would really like to know. It would be nice if there was another way other that removing the skin. That wil take too long to heal. A scare in that spot is not what I want.

Anyway thanks for sharing. If you could give me some more information I would appreciate it.

thanks

How much?
How much juice did you drink every day? I have a huge lipoma on my shoulder and probably can't afford the surgery this year. I would love to at least reduce the size of it and am interested in your juicing technique. Did you juice all these veggies together, and how much juice did you drink each day?
Thanks

enough
Juice it all together, and it has to be organic. Once a day most of the time. Sometimes I could do twice a day. Any time a day works, but in the morning I find it best since it will make you go to the bathroom.

How Much?
I guess what I'm asking is do I juice enough for one cup of juice, or are you drinking more than that at one time?
Thanks!

be wise
Perhaps its harmless to believe diet, herbs, or oils would cure a lipoma since it will do you no harm and may not progress. But at some point you will finally discover that what you are employing is simple faith. Faith in an obscure cure or routine is not medicine nor healthful. It is simply believing something will happen, and this is far less effective than medicine, research, and science. If continued for too many years you may eventually put your self at real risk.

lipoma
There is no medicine to remove a lipoma, only surgery. Since I can't afford the surgery this year, why not try some natural remedies?

Lipoma in the nose
Hi Company Man,

I have just noticed a lipoma in the right side of my nose. I have may of them in body, more than I can count. But never had one in the face. I was taking some Homeopathy - no help, probaably made them even worse.
I am glad that something actually worked on them. I would definitely give it a go.

Once you mentioned "Juicing organic carrots, celery, apples, parsley, and other fresh vegetables", but in your mom's case you mentioned "juicing carrots and celery".

Could you please provide me the details of the juice, e,g proportion of veggies, quantity of veggies for a single shot, amount of water.

Eagerly waiting for you reply.
