Q: lip bumps, not cold sores

So in the past year or so i've had alot of irritation around my mouth, but I have no idea what it is, or whats causing it.

I'll get a little bit of irritation (sometimes not) and then i'll get a soft red bump on my lip. This will go away within about 3 days. It doesnt break, or weep, or crust like cold sores do. Its just a small painless bump(only one, not several either) and then it goes away after a few days.

Are they maybe hives? but hives dont really last days do they? It doesnt appear to be contagiuos but the whole thing freaks me out every time because Im now paranoid that i'll get cold sores (which i've never had, to my knowledge). Im starting to wonder if its maybe stress, or like a zit.

Either way I want it to go away, or to know what it is.

Can anyone help me? Should I be worried?

Seems to be similar to acne. If it comes and goes without pain or problem, why worry? Or if does appear, get it diagnosed at a dermatologist's office during an outbreak.
