for about 6.5 months now I've noticed a dull, aching pain in my lower back and upper buttocks. It's not a strong pain, rather just an annoying dullness that seems to get worse when I'm active. The pain radiates into my hips and begins to cause some discomfort. Within the past month or so, I've been experiencing similar pain in my lower abdomen that is equal in location to my back pain.

I went to my GP for a physical and he said that everything looks okay and ran the basic blood tests, everything came back alright.

I had a pilodonial abscess removed about a year ago, and I'm wondering maybe it could be something from that?

Just a bit worried.

Hello John,

From the pain you have discribed I would suggest that you seek the opinion of a spinal surgeon. Make an appointment with the best one in your area. That pain radiating into your hips is of concern.

You had your physical, now it is time to see that spine specialist.

Let us know how things go for you.

I agree with RichT but also wanted to say that it could stem from your abscess surgery did they say if there were any more cysts there when they removed the previous one? I had to have surgery about 15 months ago for a infected cyst and was told afterwards I have 3 others in there and may want to come back and have them removed.

But with pain going into your hips that I would talk to a doctor about sorry I could not be more help.
