jwa08,

Welcome to the forum.

It does not sound like anxiety, more like a physical problem. Go back to the doctor and ask for a more detailed blood work up. I recently found out I had an extreme vitamin D deficiency, which causes severe bone pain, and extreme sleepiness all the time. I can sleep 16 hours a day and still feel exhausted. I felt so tired, gained weight, my skin was so dry, I felt cold all of the time, it also caused short term memory problems. I kept telling my regular internist about it, he did the stimulating thyroid hormones test and kept telling me it was normal, I knew with research I had all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Online I learned that their were new guidelines on how they diagnosed the disorder. The old guidelines were .03 to 5.6. The new guidelines were .03 to 3. I got my blood results and found out my TSH came back a 5.48 which is not considered very high. I take 75mcls of synthroid.. It wasnt until I saw an endocrinologist that I finally got the correct diagnosis. He was wonderful, and did several other blood tests and thats how we found about the low vitamin D levels. I think you need to get copies of your blood tests and read the numbers yourself. She if they gave you the thyroid tests. Also are you having any other symptoms?

Are you just lightheaded or are you also tired all the time? You may need to drink those vitamin drinks and gatorade, your electolytes might be off. A regualer cbc blood tests only covers the most basic things. Like your white and red blood cell counts, your platelettes, and your white cell count. Their are maybe 50 different studies they can do on a blood test. Normally they only check about 10 or less. It may be anxiety but when I have an anxiety attack my heart palipitates, I get short of breath, my stomach feels like butterflies, and I think about horrible things. I know when one is coming on so I take a pill before it gets bad. It has never caused me to get lightheaded. Are you getting enough sleep. You may have low blood pressure at times and not know it. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day which can be subsituted with the vitamin drinks or gatorade. Sun is the best way to get lots of vitamin D so sit in the sun, without sun screen for 15 minutes at a time through out the day. My vitamin D defiency is severely low and it will take at least 3 months of heavy doses of the vitamin and sun to get it back to normal. You would know if you may be suffering from that because all you can do is sleep. Try to get lots of sleep and keep yourself hydrated and take a normal vitamin everyday in case something is lacking in your diet. Try this and let me know if it helps.
