Q: Light spotting

Dear doctor,
i had my last periods on 26th feb 2009,this month i got it on 25march2009.but i have observed that from 25/3/09till today 27/3/09 i have not got bleeding yet its just light spotting,I am planning for a baby so in excitment yesterday eve i went for a home pregnancy test which showed negative,consulted the doctors they said it may be your preganant and its to early to test wait for somedays,but i am scared kindly guide me
