Q: Light spotting and cramping in early pregnancy

My husband and I just found out that we are pregnant. We have no idea how far a long we are because I haven't had my period for the last six months. We think I could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 weeks.

I have had mild cramping for the past three or four weeks but it only really seems to happen when I sneeze or get up quickly. Yesterday morning, I noticed that when I wiped after going to the bathroom, there was an very very slight amount of brownish blood. The cramps have become much less noticeable and as of today I haven't cramped much.

We also noticed that this began the day after my husband and I had intercourse.

Could this all be related? Thank you for your help, we are really hoping and praying that we don't lose this new little baby.

You really should see your OBGYN regardless. You need prenatal vitamins and a check-up. Since you have these symptoms, I would do so as soon as possible.

5 weeks or miscarriage?
I had an ultrasound this morning. The Dr. said there was a 50/50 chance the baby was ok. Either I'm only 5 weeks along and we can't yet see the baby or hear the heartbeat, or I'm further along than that and the baby isn't developing and I will miscarry. I have to wait another week before I find out for sure.
I have had bad cramps today but very minimal bleeding. Any more thoughts?
Thank you

Even at 6 weeks, you may still not hear the heartbeat. That usually happens around the 7th week. A week at this stage makes a lot of difference, so don't panic.
