Q: Light Pink Spotting at 3 weeks

My boyfriend and I think we may be pregnant and are very excited. If I am I would be almost 3 weeks along. My breast were quite swore but have not hurt as bad for the last week. I am stilla little tender though. I am tired all the time and cant seem to stop eating. I have gotten sick only twice but I have been having slight craps or aches (very light) in my lower back and lower tummy. I did an at home pregnancy test (even though it was to early for it to read) it said negative. Today I am having light pink spotting along with cramping and lower back pain (very light) I am not do to start my period for another week. Could I still be pregnant or am I just starting.

If it too early to test positive on a pregnancy test then its definitely too early to be experiencing any pregnancy symptoms. You could of course still be pregnant but it would be too early to tell. just wait another week and test

considering that I just got back from the emergency room for a miscarriege, then no it definitly was not to early to have symptoms. I knew what I felt was real.

i had a miscarriage when i was 4 weeks pregnant for a whole month i was feeling really sharp pains in my lower abdomen and i had the same symptoms as you but i didnt take my at home test until i was 3 days late for my period it came up positive but it was very faint so i took like two more and they all said positive or if you dont want to wait you can go to the ER and they can detect a pregnancy hormone called the HGC level and thats usually how they determine how far along someone is i know because thats what they did for me before i had the miscarriage

Did they diagnose you with a blighted ovum? A chemical pregnancy? Chromosomal abnormalities cause these early 'miscarriages'.

If you had pregnancy symptoms for a month but were 4 weeks along, that meant you had pregnancy symptoms before you'd even gotten pregnant.

However, I would doubt that any doctor would diagnose a miscarriage if you cannot even test for pregnancy yet. At 3 weeks pregnant (3 weeks after the first day of your last period) your body wouldn't have any idea there was a pregnancy and there would be no hormones triggered.

This is a helpful site. I am sorry you had to go through a D&C. When did the doctor say you could try again?

i'm pretty confused...

you were a week away from your period and your pregnancy tests were negative. how did the doctors know you were pregnant if you weren't producing a positive pregnancy test and there's nothing to see on an ultrasound at that stage? i've never heard of anyone needing a d&c at 3 weeks pregnant. sorry if this sounds insensitive but at 3 weeks pregnant there wouldn't be anything to pass and i can't see why a d&c would be in order.

feel free to clear any of this up because none of it makes sense.

How do you go from thinking that you maybe be pregnant to having a miscarriage AND having a D&C all in the same day???? Not to mention having the time to come and update us total strangers here in the internet world.....lol Sorry but something definitely isn't adding up here.

i'm not a professional and i'm telling you there is no way you were diagnosed with a miscarriage at 3 weeks pregnant.

even if they did think you were miscarrying there is no way they would have given you a d&c. they would have sent you home to pass things naturally, then maybe there would have been a follow up a week or so down the road and maybe then there would have been a reason to go ahead with a d&c.

I was 16wks when I found out that the baby had died a few weeks earlier and they still wanted me to pass it on my own naturally.

idk where any of u are from but in baltimore if u go to the ER and tell them your symptoms they will give you a sonagram and tell you your HCG level when i found out i was four weeks my HCG was 131 and they sent me home then i continued bleeding for two days and when i went back to the ER my HCG was 19 thats when they told me it was a miscarraige but the nurse told me and my bf as soon as someone becomes pregnant the pregnancy hormone can be detected

Ok....so they tested your HCG and sent you home.....they didn't "scrap out your insides" with a D&C on the same day, like they supposedly did for this girl. They will usually wait to see if your HCG levels are in fact dropping and also to see if your body is going to miscarry on its own before they perform a D&C.

Also if they did give her an ultrasound they wouldn't be able to see ANYTHING at 3wks pregnant. WHY?? Because there isn't ANYTHING to see.

Just a REPLY
I am pregrant again now...but I am replying to the 3weeks pregant situation. First, everybody has different pregancys...but generally they all share some qualities...I was diagnosed with a miscarriage the last time that I was pregant. at 4-6 weeks is what the doctor told me. AND they performed the DNC...I had no idea that I was pregnant at ALL until I was rushed to the emergency room because I dropped a "chunk" of uterine lining on my office floor. FYI...3weeksPregnant...I believe you and wish you the best of luck next time. It is hard going thru what you're going thru. Best Wishes

oh my god
what question is everyone replying to here?
im confused
and there is alot of negativity and cattyness considering this is a delicate subject matter.
Personally i am still 'waiting' for my missed period as me and my fiance are trying for our 2nd child
It is a worrying time and the last thing people need is to feel worse about their situation.
Try a little sensitivity maybe girls???

bitter women with something to "prove"
Wow. I can't believe that some women posting on this page could be so heartless. It doesn't matter -to prove someone guilty or innocent- in a situation like this.

What's important is to show support!

Wow, harshness people!! i miscarried at 3 weeks twice! i have had a total of 6 miscarriages and it is a very sensative subject. Trying for a second child for 4 years it pretty disappointing and hell for the emotinal field.
so try to be more flexible with the mind because anything is possible.
oh, by the way im pregant again:) wish me luck!!!

For anyone who has posted here and has not been through a miscarriage and having a d/c, you should keep you negative comments to yourself. Stress is the number one reason for miscarriages. Support Support Support! I lost a baby over a year ago and have now been told I will never carry a baby again. I read what you all write and I can not believe the words coming out of your mouths. Have a little respect and stop being so judgemental. People like you dont belong on websites like this.
