i had the dnc july first because i was having my period very hard and i was having it 2 times a month but 2 days befor the surgery my period had came and i did not think he was going to do the dnc but he did he was going to do a hestrectamy but i told him i want kids so we wint with just doing the dnc on july 1st and then a week later he told me to see if i can get pregnate after scrapeing me clean and now that im bleeding its like nothing not even enofe to use a pad but like most girls we put on one any ways thinking its comeing and still its like a light pink i took a test to day and it was negative acording to the net if i am pregnate i would be 3 weeks but i dont know i think i will just call my dr tommarow and find out what happen

Yeah, call the doctor to answer any questions. I'm not well-versed with the effects of a D&C.

If the test is saying you are not pregnant, then I would guess you're probably not. However, you can also ask the doc if you can do a blood test if you think you are pregnant.

Good luck with this, and let us know how things are turning out. Sounds like we could learn a whole lot from what you are experiencing.

It's common to have light bleeding for a while after a D&C

I also found this:

After a D&C, you will generally get a list of instructions with the following suggestions:

* Avoid intercourse for 2 weeks. The dilated cervix needs a chance to shrink back to normal size. Until this time, bacteria can easily get into your uterus and cause infection.

* Use only sanitary pads for bleeding. Avoid tampons for at least 2 weeks. Do not use douches.

* Be sure to return for your follow-up visit. At this time, your doctor can discuss all lab reports on your tissue samples. Your doctor will also want to examine you for any signs of infection and to make sure your cervix has returned to normal size.
