I'm having a dark brown discharge around the same time I should have my period. I'm not on birth control but I do have protected sex regularly. I have had unprotected sex on several occasions but not in the last month. The brown discharge is a very light flow, only a panty liner needed. What causes this? Should I go to the doctor?

It could very well be nothing. I get brown discharge for my period every once in awhile (Usually when there's an extreme change in something and I keep thinking its my eating habbits). Just this last month I had it and I just got a normal period today. Take a pregnancy test if you're worried.
