I am 20 years old and My last period was october 4th, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex numerous times this month. I am due to start my period soon in the next few days, but i am always late almost every month. However starting about a week before I should start, i began experiencing very light bleeding that is generally only noticable on the toilet paper. I don't need a tampon, i have been wearing a panty liner just incase because it has been so light hardly anything gets on it, it smells odd. It has been going on about 3 or 4 days now with bloating and cramps, diziness and i've been really irratable. today i started having bad diarrhea. Could these be pregnancy symptoms? I know it is too early to test but I am dying with anticipation. =(
If you had the period on 4th of October and had unprotected sex numerous times there is a chance you could be pregnant and what you had was implantation bleeding. However you can confirm this only after your expected due date.
The other possibilities for spotting before periods are hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicitis (infection/inflammation of cervix), vaginitis (infection/inflammation of vagina), cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance as in polycystic disease of the ovary, use of blood thinners, genital ulcers, STDs and stress.
Since the discharge smelled odd there is a chance that it is due to infections such as cervicitis, vaginitis or due to a STD.
Bloating, cramps, dizziness and now diarrhea could be due to food poisoning, stomach flu, irritable bowel or even due to a STD.
Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist once. Hope this helps. Take care!
