Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
It is difficult to comment on the cause for the lighter and abnormal vaginal bleeding/periods that you describe without examining you and going ahead with getting further evaluation done. The exact cause can only be made out after careful evaluation. Consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination and further evaluation to look for the underlying cause for the abnormal bleeding that you describe. Treatment as needed (based on examination findings and investigations results) would be started to help you to regulate your periods. If you suspect chances of pregnancy, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately).
Take care.
