Are there are any harmful long term
effects to using Lexapro? I'm willing to
deal with the side effect of no orgasm
while on the medication but I'm
embarrassed to ask my psychiatrist. I do
not wish to experience anorgasmia in the
long term.
Lack of orgasm is one of the possible side
effects of Lexapro (esticalopram). Lexapro
belongs to the group of SSRI
antidepressant medicines. All SSRIs can
cause lack of orgasm.

Hey Rooted,
I am on Lexapro 10mg. I had a lack of
orgasm. Just think of it this way, when
you are intimate it is well worth the
wait..... I have been on Lexapro for 3
years now and i can tell you that me and
my boyfriend are intimate at least 2 days
a week.

Hi Kathy. I'm not clear on your message.
Do you mean that you overcame the lack of
orgasm? Or just that being intimate
brings its own rewards? Did orgasm come
with practice?

Hi Rooted,
I meant that for the first couple of
months you will not be orgasmatic, but
your body will overcome it, mine did.
