Q: Lengthy foreplay and risk of HIV
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 31st, 2009
Yes, me and my friend( not boyfriend) were messing around last saturday night. We were having dry sex me with no clothes on except for a t shirt and him with his underwear and shirt on. We were deep kissing alot and just rubbing bodies alot. Is there a possiblity for me to get HIV or AIDS? Here is also a brief description of everything that I remember happening.- Sexual Encounter

Saturday January 24, 2009

- Dry Sex( Basically a form of sex without penetration)
- Me without clothes except for a t-shirt( no underwear, no bra)
- Partner had Boxers and t- shirt
- No actually penetration except for humping , grinding , laying and cuddling
- one time partner was on top believed to feel Penis around buttock’s area
- No ejection of semen on me or anywhere else

-Kissing
- mostly tongue kissing
- Kissing chest ( nipple area)
- Did not see soars around partners lips or other areas
- Did not have soars until the next day
- next day had a soar or bruise upon gum ridge( should be concerned)

Menstrual Cycle

- less interaction
- one time at one point felt something wet on hand( clear residue coming from partner’s private area)
- Afterwards washed hands
- at one time partner and I rubbed private areas with clothes on
- kissing less interaction ( pecks, resulted in less tongue,)
- I had a lip cut from dry lips

Information on Partner
Partner has said he has engaged in Oral Sex once reference to him doing it to another one of his sexual partners.
Has kissed a least 5 or more girls
Last HIV and AIDS test was somewhat recent to before meeting me.

Concerns
Should I be concerned?
What if I had a hair bump and the partner was sweating can that lead to HIV or Aids?
Should I get tested?
Am I at risk for HIV or AIDS?
If so what do I need to do?

According to the information you provided, your behavior is not considered risky. Deep kissing can be a way to transfer the infection only if partners have sores in the mouth or bleeding gums.

In many studies no HIV was found in perspiration. You are not at risk for HIV or AIDS. If you were, you might have wanted to do an HIV test at least 3 weeks after exposure, and repeat it after 3 and 6 months after exposure, to be completely sure.
