Q: legal advise for pregnant teen

I live in california and I am 17 and i am about 6 and a half months pregnate and my babys father is 28 I really want to put him on the berth certificate but i dont want him to go to jail even though my mother gives consent could he go to jail

I don't believe so, since your over 16. Atleast in MA the legal age to have sex is 16, and they can be over 18 with parental consent. But it might be different in different states. Check with a counselor or you can do research on the statutory rape laws in CA. I'm sure you can put him on the certificate without an investigation taking place unless you or your mother presses charges

its statuatory rape i think til ur 18 but idk. i find it immature to have sex as a teen. i lost virginity at age 20 1/2. ive got 2 kids under 1 1/2 yrs old

no its 18 for males an 16 for females. unless its your relgion not to till ur married

The age of consent in California is 18. This is from CA:

"What is Statutory Rape?
Statutory Rape is unlawful sexual intercourse with someone
under the age of 18. "

ok so i know this is kinda old but the pst right before mine is correct. the legal CA is 18 for both ppl so if your parents dont want to put him in jail then it will be fine put him on the BC and i hope he takes care of his child
