leg numbness only when i walk for exercise

when i walk my right foot and then my leg goes numb... it goes so numb i could hit it off something and wouldnt feel pain? i find it very difficult to finish walks when i get this dead leg. this happens only when i walk for exercise and does not occur when i walk around shops etc.
any ideas what might be causing this?

It could be from either neurogenic or vascular claudication. Thus, it could be caused by a problem in the spine or with the circulation.

You should be evaluated by your physician. Good luck.
