I sustained a lis-franc fracture (R,Foot) in September, which took me out of school for a semester, due to the pain medications and the adverse reactions, in terms of memory. It is healing properly, given that I have clubfeet (I went to the doctor two weeks ago for that follow up). We discussed that I am still experiencing severe pain (7-9/10) occasionally when I miss a step or step too hard coming down stairs, and 3-4/10 when I don't take my regimen of 800mg ibuprofen 3 times daily, IN MY FOOT. However, twice in the last week, NOT MY FOOT, but in MY LEG from about the ankle to 6" below my waist it feels as though the muscles are on fire. I end up taking 10-20mg of Hydrocodone and 5-15mg of Diazepam (muscle relaxer, NOT Valium) every 3.5-4 hours to alleviate the pain. Is there anyone familiar with this particular sensation of pain? I've researched and called a number of college athletes I am friends with to see what the issue or catalyst may be, but they have never experienced this type of pain. The most confounding part is that it usually begins while I am sitting. If anyone has ANY information or the SLIGHTEST inclination of where I ought to resume my research, I am in debilitating pain and I HATE painkillers and their impact on my mental capacity, so I want a solution, not a symptomatic treatment.
