According to the symptoms you reported, your symptoms might be related to damage caused to one of the three nerves responsible for the hand. Since the pain start in the elbow, there is a possibility that the cause for your problems is located in the elbow. The exact cause can not be told without further tests by neurologist.
Meanwhile, you might want to use some over-the-counter anti-inflammatory creams in case the symptoms are caused by local inflammation that puts pressure on the nerves that pass through the area.
