My father had stroke 3 years ago aged 43 he had weakness in right arm and leg and headache for approx 2wks before he was scanned 1 day after stroke and confirmed stroke, was given meds and told to come back one month later, a month later he attended appointment and told his speach and movement were back to normal and he did not need to see hospital doctor again so was discharged,he had to see own gp every 3 months for blood tests since then his personality completely changed he became severely depressed to the point were he tried to cut open his own chest hang himself drink himself to death,he was admitted to psychiatric hospital were he stayed for three weeks he was interviewed by a very nice doctor from the memory clinic who diagnosed him with mild cognitive impairment sent him for new ct which revealed infarct left frontal lobe and changes to frontal lobe size he is now awaiting results from mri and spect scans is this normal practice for stroke patients
