I took a laxative last Friday which worked well in clearing out my system. The only problem is I haven't had a bowel movement since then. I don't feel constipated at all, and have had no urges to go. Could this be because the laxative cleaned me out? Or something more serious?

Hello, and thank you for your medical question on e Health Forum.

Overuse of laxatives can have such issues.

You need not worry about it.

Have a proper diet with adequate fiber supplements and you will soon have a normal bowel movement.

In case of any doubt, consult your doctor for advice about proper use of laxatives.

I hope this helps.
