Hi,
I am freaking out and need some advice asap! I've been on BC for almost 4 years now and always really good about taking it. I have only missed a pill once and that was because I put it on the table and walked away. I immediately started a fake period because of the missed pill. Well last week I was finishing up finals week and my bf and I have sex without a condom (thu) then I spent the night at the library finishing up my paper. The next day I went to take my pill and noticed i had forgotten to take my pill the previous day. So I took two and nothing happened. My bf and I had sex a couple times throughout the weekend without a condom and on tues I went to my parents' house for dinner, but that night it was storming so my dad told me to spend the night. And I remembered I had forgotten to take my pill that day so when I returned home the next day I took two. Then I noticed some itching and I thought oh great, a yeast infection. =[ and yesterday (thu) I went to use the bathroom and when I wiped I noticed I had pink discharge. I never had that happen to me before so I researched it and it possibly could mean implantation?? Today the discharge did not go away or seemed to lighten up. Do you think I'm having the pink discharge because I was late taking my pill twice this week? or implantation? I am due for my period within the week. My breasts are not sore and I have been tired, but I think that is due to the fact that I haven't gotten much sleep. PLEASE help me.

Are you on a combined oral contraceptive? And, what does your pill packet say about missing a pill? Most pill literature (the packet that comes with your pills) says that missing only one pill should NOT compromise your protection, as long as you later remembered to take it.

The fact that your pill schedule has been rather erratic is probably the reason for your bleeding. In my opinion, you did NOT compromise your protection by missing one pill since you remembered to take it. Even in both instances, you should have still been protected (as long, however, as you are taking a COMBINED oral contraceptive pill).

Remember, actually becoming pregnant is a very complicated process, and your pill does everything in its power to prevent that. I know it's easy to get paranoid over these things, and I hope everything works out for you!

Thanks!

I think Ortho Tri Cyclen is a combination of estrogen and....? I've read the packet a couple times over my four years, and I think it says to take 2 if I don't take one on time. My period is supposed to be here within the next 5 days so if it doesn't come I'll take a test asap!

Yes, Ortho Tri Cyclen is a combined pill. This just means your chance of loss of efficacy is lower.
You did exactly what you were supposed to, so I don't think you will have any problems.
