I'm 36 and have three children. My period is 7 days late. It is never late. I took an HPT today and it was negative. For the last few hours I've been having cramping on my right side. This cramping is more intense than what I normally feel when ovulating. Could my cycle be so off that I am ovulating now instead of three weeks ago? Seeing my gynecologist on the 7th, but not sure if I can or should wait that long.
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Delayed periods and intense cramping on one side could also suggest possibility of pregnancy, more so of ectopic pregnancy. If the intensity of cramps have been increasing, then you should consider visiting the ER or visiting your gynecologist and get a blood HCG test to confirm/rule out pregnancy along with an ultrasound scan to confirm/rule out ectopic pregnancy or ovarian cyst.
The cramps did not increase. Saw my gynecologist on the 7th. He said irregular periods happen even to people who are usually regularl. My period finally came today (3 weeks late). Maybe my cycle will be back on track now.
Thank you for the advice. I really appreciated it.
