What did the test's directions say? How long after your missed period were you supposed to wait to take the test? A week should be enough time to get an accurate result, but if you don't get your period in two or three days, take another test or go see your doctor. It is also possible that you did the test wrong, which is common. Did you follow the directions exactly? Take it with your first morning urine? Not wait too long to read the stick (the lines can fade)?

It wouldn't hurt to go get a blood test from your OBGYN. Have you started on prenatal vitamins? It's usually advised to start before you get pregnant. That may be another reason to go in, if you haven't already.

i would know for sure if it was my period starting as i suffer cramp really badly with my period and all i have is a dull ache??
