Q: Late period after abortion and implanon

Hi, I'm 17 turning 18 very soon.
At the beginning of the year I found out I was pregnant and due to family, timing and wanting to finish school I choose to abort. Well, that was the biggest mistake of my life. I thought I'd get through the year no worries, but for ten months have cried myself to sleep every night over my decision and am over school as all I have on my mind is what if, should have and could have. It is very distracting, anyway I didn't trust myself at the time so I got the implanon put in my arm and for 8 months had huge troubles... finally found a doctor who would take it. I ended my last period the 26th of August, and am on the pill. But it's now the 7th of october and still no period, now 16 days late. I have done three tests and all said negative. Is the normal due to the abortion and implanon or could I be pregnant again? As i was on the pill when I fell pregnant at the end of last year?

Any time you have sex there's always a chance of pregnancy but if you've taken three tests which have been negative then I'd be inclined to say that it sounds like you're not pregnant (if you were pregnant there should definitely be enough hcg to register at 16 days late).
Could just be your body adjusting the hormones/pill etc but call a doctor if you're concerned

the only thing is last time it did not register until 12 weeks. i just wondered could the implanon possibly change my cycle length?

Implanon can change cycles while it's in and it took me a couple of months to become 'regular' after having mine removed so of course it's a possibility.

Three negative tests during pregnancy is unlikely, if you want to check again then try to get a sensitive hpt or ask your doctor for a blood test (which will be accurate).
