I went out last night, & obviously didn't drink anything, but I felt so rough towards the end of the night.. I get "night sickness" as opposed to morning sickness so I didn't think the nausea was unusual, but I was also experiencing pain in my upper/mid abdomen. I was driving my friends home & the pain kept getting worse & worse.. I was actually crying from the pain at one point. After I'd taken my friends home it was quite a long drive back to my house & I didn't think I'd make it back. But I just kept going, & when I got in Jonny was asleep, but my crying woke him up. He wasn't very sympathetic.. he just kept falling back asleep. I threw up when I got in, but that could have been unrelated to the pain, I don't know. I don't like causing a fuss so I didn't wanna ring the hospital or anything.. it was about 3am at this point.. so I just went to bed & tried to get some sleep. Thankfully the pain did ease off after a while.

I know this post is a bit pointless, & the pain can't be related to the baby, it was far too high up.. but I was just wondering, has anyone else experienced anything like this? I googled it (bad idea.. I know!) & it seems I was having symptoms similar to those of gallstones. The pain is still there now, but it's nowhere near as bad as last night.

Argh.. it was horrible, it really ruined my night Sad

It would be a good idea to ring up the doctor. It could be nothing, but it could be something. Googling symptoms is never a good idea! Although, off the top of my head, the first thing I thought was 'gallbladder'. But, it could be ulcer related as well. You should be seen.

Good luck!

I had this towards the end of my pregnancy with Jordan. It was gallstones.
Was it a stabbing pain?

I'd ring your dr!! Pregnancy hormones can definately cause gallstones, its quite common. Usually its not a problem with the pregnancy, however if you are in too much pain they may decide to remove your gallbladder while still pregnant.

Was is a constant pain or like 'attacks'? Are you still feeling bad today? If you talk to your doctor let us know what they say!! I hope you get to feeling better!

it could be your ligaments stretching for the baby, i know its high up, but it could be pulling at the sides higher up for room for the baby, i had this when i was 14 weeks pregnant, right before i went to my first appointment with my family doctor, i was in the shower and started feeling dizzy, then when i got out i had to sit down, there was a pain at my sides, and i thought ill just stand up and stretch a little to see if it would help, i had to grip the side of my computer desk it was so painful, but then it went away.
I had alot of "night sickness" too, one time my fiance and i went to a movie and i had to rush to the bathroom and throw up. Another time we were out for dinner with friends and i had to go get sick.
Hopefully its nothing serious, but let your doctor know about what you felt the other night, he or she may have a better answer or guess of what it is

Thanks everyone.

It wasn't really stabbing pains, more like a constant ache.. but a severe one. It's gone now, but I'm all bloated & I'm starting to wonder if it was caused by something I ate or something along those lines. I get nauseous when I'm hungry but then as soon as I start eating I get full soooo quickly, & I soon feel all bloated & horrible. I dunno.. my body's just in a bit of a mess right now.

I have my first midwife appointment on monday so I'm going to mention it to her then.

It sounds kinda like gallstones, i got them when i was pregnant with jordynne, the pains can get soo bad! And make you sick as well. Id ask your dr about it so they can look at your gallbladder and kidneys and all that when you go there. Specially if its gallstones u dont wanna deal with that the entire pregnancy! Sooooo not fun.
