Laser photocoagulation for retinal detachment is a method in which a laser is used to seal leaky blood vessels, to destroy abnormal blood vessels, and stop new ones from forming, and to seal retinal tears.

The effects of laser photocoagulation are irreversible, so you might want to ask for a second opinion from an ophthalmologist that will have your affected eye examined first.
