Okay its a doozie. I have two beautiful children. I remember the symptoms of pregnancy but I am thoroughly convinced that there is no way that I could be pregnant. My tubes are tied. Pregnancy test is negative x2 and I had a menstrual period. Thing is my breasts are larger, firmer and nipples are sore. Belly is a little more swollen than usual. I do not have any other weight gain and I only noticed the weight gain in the first place because I petite. History of cervical cancer (CIS II), had leisions excized and clear as of colposcopy one month ago. I'm 25...healthy otherwise and not on any medicines...is it hormonal or what? I know its not due to ovulation or my cycle...those are totally different symptoms altogether...the back pain, sore breasts all over (not just nipples as in this case) and pms...the usual stuff. Ovulation for me consists of firmer breasts but no breast or nipple pain and that nagging feeling some women get when the egg bursts through the follicle...but that's it. This is totally different and doesn't go away. argh...so confused Confused

It doesn't sound like to me that you could be pregnant since you have had two tests and a menstrual cycle. I would contact a doctor to see what is going on with your hormones. Also, some women's PMS symptoms change through the years. When was your last cycle? Could you perhaps be going through PMS now with different symptoms? I never had any symptoms of PMS, other than cramps, no bloating, irritability, mood swings, etc. NOW, OH MY GOSH - it is the worst, but I am older and think I am probably perimenopausal.

last cycle
Was the 2nd of April. And my cycles are like clockwork. 2-7 of each month. No different symptoms each time. This started before my last cycle at around two weeks after my period so I doubt its a new pms symptom.

You should go to your doctor and insist on a serum pregnancy test. You can get pregnant even with a tubal ligation. It can result in an ectopic pregnancy which can be life threatening. It is not a common occurrence but does happen. Better to be safe than sorry. My sister in law had this occur twice.

Yes, I would get it checked out since there is a history of cervical cancer. I have heard or pregancy after a tubal ligation though! But.........the pregnancy tests are very accurate now, so I would go the the doctor and tell him of your symptoms. Maybe, just something PMS, but at least it would give you peace of mind. You haven't had a period since the 2nd of April? Then yes, get medical advice. Good Luck!

followup
Aha! Went to GYN...turns out I had a small tumor on my ovary...apparently one of my eggs decided not to release from its little follicle all the way...something like that. It was messing up my hormone levels slightly! I feel so relieved!
