Q: Large painful tonsils

What could be causing my tonsils to be so large and painful and what can I do for the extreme headaches (advil etc is not working)

If the condition is caused by bacteria, then you might want to have a swab from the tonsils and the throat with antibiogram. It might reveal the exact bacteria that caused it and the antibiotic that should be used. The fact that several antibiotics did not work, might indicate that the bacteria is extremely resistant and more doses would be needed. Control swab after the treatment is highly recommendable to check if some bacteria have survived, because those bacteria might be even more resistant and even harder to treat if not treated enough in the first place.
