Have this checked out with a Dermatologist...This sounds very suspicious...They probably will do a biopsy...But, do have it taken care of...

I had skin cancer in 1990 and they took a biopsy of it right away, it was on my right calf. I went to the Dr. because I kept shaving it off in the shower and it would bleed and not go away. Dr. took it out and it had roots on it, 2 days later they called and scheduled my surgery 2 days after that. It was malignant melanoma the size of a golf ball.They said 2 more weeks and it would have went to my blood stream and then I would have had to have chemo and radiation. Even if it turns out to be benign please have it Biopsied, I now have my skin checked every 6 months, nothing to mess around with. Better to be safe than sorry Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Hi Cheley47...My son had his first Malignant Melanoma in 1984...His was on his back...His was a mole growing and all different colors...A doctor friend of his saw it when they were playing basketball...If he hadn't seen him and grabbed him, he could be dead now...He arranged for him to see a specialist the next day...That week they took it out...After studying the biopsy they took out more in the surrounding area of the mole...They couldn't take chances...Too many feelers......His, too, had started growing down but not as big as yours...You are very, very lucky...Since that date he has had about four more taken off of various parts of his body...Even one on his stomach...Many stitches but alive...After the last one was taken off they took him back from a yearly check-up to every 6 months...Blond and great sun lover...
