My husband has had a large bump on his tongue, which had been there for about a year. He went to the doctor about a year ago, and was told it may be a compression bump and that it would go away. A year later, it is still here and I have had my doubts from the very beginning about this being a "compression bump" as it looks like it is literally growing from his toungue.
-It doesn't hurt him, but he says "it is a little uncomfortable"
-It often gets in the way, he has bit it a few times which causes it to become a canker-type sore.
-It changes in size (smaller, and bigger) very, very slightly.
-The texture is different then his tounge. The bump has a very smooth looking texture and appears to be "growing" out of his tounge.
-His toungue is HUGE so from the picture, the bump looks very small. In person, it is about the size of a pea cut in half and placed on there.
-He has never smoked a cig in his life
-Never done tabacco
