Extremely eHealthy
Patients with severe acid reflux, that aren't responding to usually prescribed meds, are often suggested for fundoplication.
Laparascopically performed, this procedure has improvement of GERD symptoms in 76% to 98% of people who have the surgery.
Half of the people who had surgery still need to take medications to control GERD symptoms, but not regularly, cause the symptoms appear less frequently and less intensive.
About 10% to 20% of the people who have surgery to relieve GERD symptoms continue to have symptoms or develop new problems after surgery.
Also, small percent of people need to undergo second surgery to correct complications due to this surgery.

Best wishes!

Acid reflux
tiz the same thing, u basically have stomach contents, be it food, acid, liquid or whatever easily escaping into ur esophigus and causing u belching, upset stomach, heartburn/indegestion, and generally making u feel unwell.

This is usually caused by a combination of reflux and a hiatal hernia at the top the stomach which starts to protrude into ur esophigus therefor widening the opening and increasing reflux.

I am currently recovering from a laproscopic fundopulication, which is the procedure that can be done if medication doesnt solve the issue.

Recovery
How long are you into recovery? I will be getting the procedure myself in June. I am a very active man and do not want to be out of the gym for more than 2 weeks. What are soe of the post surgery guidelines?

Thanks,

Lee
