Good early hrs of the morning to everyone! my problem is the severity of sharp stabbing pains in right side under breast ribcage! this is 2nd time round for me as first was open surgery. on day 6 now and still pretty much confined to bed, although i do get up and about and do bits, but few minutes and exhausted again and painful.. I am allergic to anti inflamotory )nasaids) from first time round the agonising pain and sickness.. so morphine and plenty this time, but to be frankly honest no medication has helped at all with it and i feel i am naturally getting by!! The sickness has been terrible had injections and now tablets whilst at home. i have had 2 good days and feel great in between..It is the sharp pains that are depressing me more than anything as i cannot get out of bed and the breathing is very kind of shallow i dare not breath properly. It is so bad i feel like i need urgent medical help!!but say to myself...it WILL go away and try to relax!!!
Anyone else feel this way should i seek more medical attention as i can barely cope with the sharpness when its there ...Many THANKS xxxxxx caroline

Most patients who undergo laparoscopic hernia repair do not experience the severe pain that you describe. You should be re-evaluated by your surgeon to try and discover why you are having so much pain.

Hi Dr, I eventually saw the Surgeon again and was taken back to theatre as i ended up rushed into A&E and the Medics said i was realy bad at resting when did pulse and heart rate. Ct scans were done and Xray and nothing showed i ended up going back home.
then eventually after seeing surgeon in Theatre the problem was there was nerves trapped in screws so i had 5 removed, since then 2yrs and almost 3 months i have had numerous symptoms and i have progressed into only just managing running my cleanig business, everything is a problem! i am on Lyrica and pain relief so the amount of things i have going on! I had 3 MRI's since Cervical neck and large Disc and small disc indenting on spinal cord causing compression on nerves to right lateral but my symptoms are both sides! I had a Brain MRI which clear and not MS i was diagnosed with BHMS and Neurologist annoyed to the state i am in nevr been spotted al lthe weaknesses and strength. I have had so many problems over my years. Glandular fever rare with enlarged spleen, diziness, blurry vision etc hospitilised for months. kidney infections, ruptured membranes in pregnancy, thrombosis, flu (months) depression alsort all lasted long periods then recovry now since this hernia op 2nd in 2010 this has been constnt with no breaks. the nerve pain the throbbing, stinging aching, weakness, heads facial discomfort..if was not for Lyrica i no idea how would manage
