My kids and I swim 2 out local lake, often. Being a woman, sometimes I get water in my feminine area. Should I be concerned about this, and what should I do, if anything?

I don't think that there are any special concerns just because you are a female. There is bacteria present in all lakes but chances of you becoming sick from it is rare. No matter where you swim, there are small amounts of water that you inadvertantly swallow, get up your nose, in your eyes... If that does not make you ill, getting water in your vaginal canal should not either.
