Q: Laceration infection?

I was wondering when it is necessary to go to a doctor with a laceration that may be infected?

In reality the laceration may have needed stitches but never got them. It is quite a wide cut and 5 days after it happening it is still very sore with a yellow-ish substance visible. Is it infected? If so can I treat this at home or do I really need to see a doctor? How serious could it be?

Yes it is necessary to see your doctor...if you don't this infection can and will spread...you will need antibiotics.

Please don't postpone this any longer.
