I am a 41 yo female who smokes and since late March of this year, I have had some problems with my lungs. I went to the emergency room for the first time in late March maybe early April and they didn't even do one test on me. No blood, no urine, no xrays no nothing!!! They did however send me home with a z-pack (5 day supply of antibiotics for bronchial infections)prescription. It seemed to help a little but ever since then, my breathing has become more labored and I sound terrible with the wheezing noise I've been making. Not only that, I started feeling an almost like burning sensation in my chest that would get worse when I would lay on my left side or flat on my back. Then it progressed to not only the burning but almost like a gassy pain in my chest that would stem from my right breast to my right shoulder blade. So I headed for the emergency room again and after blood work, a cat scan and xrays, the doctor told me I had pneumonia. Prescribed another antibiotic for 5 days and it's been approximately 7 days now and there has been no change if any thing it has gotten worse. What could this be and what should I do? I am terrified to find out it's something real bad. Cancer runs in my family, in fact, I had cervical cancer when I was 30 but didn't have to undergo any chemo or radiation. Thank God!!! Please help me!! scared scared scared

Well you could have chronic obstructive lung disease.
As a smoker that would be my guess .i have it too emphysema .With proper treatment you can lead a long and comfortable life.
See a Doc with a specialty in Respiratory medicine.Doubt VERY much its cancer they would have seen it on all of your tests .
Good luck.
