How long will can we expect it to take an l2 compression fracture (moderate anterior wedging is the only injury)to heal in an active 16 year old boy in great shape and good health? Will the bone likely remodel? If so, to what degree. The boy is being treated conservatively but has not stopped working out (albeit cautiously).

this is a VERY difficult, if not impossible question to answer online. you need to talk to a doctor that can sit down and look at the X-rays at the very least. the best advice i can give you is listen to your doctor, and see a specialist if you can afford it. second best advice, the SECOND he starts feeling any tingling, pins and needles, numbness, or burning of any kind, get him to an ER and be sure to take great care with the back on the way. The CNS cannot repair itself easily and the only thing to do at that point can only be done by doctors
