I probaly should star ta new thread but it relates to the same knee in this post. So far VA has not come up with an answere or they dont want me to find it so I can get benifits. From trying different things this is what I now know about the knee pain.
If I sit with my right knee bent for certain period of time it will generate pain. Putting the leg straight will momentarily increase the pain but then it will go away. Sometimes there is no pain while sitting with the knee bent but when straightend it will hurt for a short time and then stop hurting.
MY friend went to a doc and asked them about this. They said that they are seeing a bunch of Vetrans with this exact same issue. They cant recall the medical acronym but thinks it is either RLS or RCL. Cant find anything for RCL but I can find info on RLS. I dont see how RLS can cause this but I guess anything is possible. The acronym may have also been completly misquoted. The description told to me by the friend is that the bones stiffen while in that posistion causing the pain when you straiten it out.
Now I know from a non VA doc that this is a common thing in VETs. Although it is very likely tht I do have RLS (Im always moving/shaking my legs and feet. Sleeping or awake)I just can see how it may relate.
I have to make an effort to remember not to have that leg bent when crossing my legs. Its not always easy to remember to do so. I do not know if running will agravate it since I cant do that for long. Another injury that happened while in service is the reason.
That knee did have problems with the IT band while in service. To this day if I do to much stair climbing it will iritate the IT band. I got out in 2003.
