A few days ago I was playing a basketball game, and I collided pretty brutally with another player while I was dribble my right shoulder( my dominate arm) went in a laterally angle into the opposing players chest.
The pain isn't unbearable but quite annoying. Its a stinging pain when I put on a article of clothing over the arm, if I click the mouse button it sends a shock to my shoulder, and just using it to get up in the morning is a little uncomfortable. I have stretched it out however it still occurring. School Doctor says it will go away within days and insisted I can continue with regular activity. As an athlete I’m a little scared if I continue with physical activity such as basketball and weight lifting it can cause a more serious or turn into a reoccurring injury.
My 2nd question is something which has been bothering me for many years but no one can really answer it. Everyone has different diagnoses for it.
It occurs every so often where my knee will lock up when I’m about to jump especially if it’s after a quick move within a small space. There is no pain in the knee but it looks unorthodox, and I’m unable to get of the ground.
One psychotherapist claims it because my upper body is bigger then my lower body so its hard for it to support the weight (makes no sense IMO since I’m 6’3 190lbs with a 40 inch vert. wouldn’t my weight impact my mobility of jumping?), another physiotherapist suggested its because cartilage could potentially be wearing down in my knees because of excessive jumping and claimed there wasn’t much I could do other then stop jumping( which isn’t happening) or strength my knee( I have been doing quad exercises to strength my knee for 3 years now however my knee will still lock up from time to time).
Just curious about your guys opinions, about my knee, and shoulder.
Its my left knee incase it matter, its also my stronger leg out of the two.
