Q: Kidney stones diet

Hi. I am a new user and I have a question regarding kidney stones. I have noticed every time I go on a low-carb diet that within a month or two my kidney starts hurting a lot and has or is in the process of forming or passing a stone.

Fortunately, I found a cure for stones on the Internet, which is basically drinking a lot of pure lemon juice and water - and that works great.

But I'm wondering how I can stay on a low-carb diet without the resulting kidney pain. I do not eat meat, but do eat a lot of protein as in cheeses, eggs, and cashews to snack on. The low-carb diet works great for me but I truly can't stand the kidney pain that accompanies it.

Can anyone tell me how to modify the diet so it is compatible with kidney health?

You may be asked to make changes to the amount of salt, calcium, oxalate, protein, potassium and fluid in your diet in order to help prevent kidney stones. A registered dietitian can help you with making these changes....do you know how to get in touch with one?

Review this website about your diet and kidney stones for more information.
