I am a 52 yr old male that works in a physically active job.
I have had a kidney stone for about 6 weeks now. Lots of side pain (sparatic) when it was first noticed and a week or so of no pain. The Urologist said the stone is 3mm and to drink plenty of water. She also said when the stone is ready to pass it will feel like I have to pee, even when I don't.
This morning at work I felt a sharp pulling inside near my bladder and the urge to pee. After peeing I still have the constant (even as I type this) urge to pee. Feels like the stone is preparing it's final desent to come out.
I have been reading online comments about the terrible pain associated with passing stones. Some people say it is worse than child birth, others talk about going to the hospital. I cannot find any information on when this pain is exactly suppose to hit. I have been uncomfortable but nothing like I would imagine child birth would be.
So with that I have a question, is the discomfort I have felt so far as bad as it gets or is the worse pain due to come during the actual passing of the stone as it moves through and out?
Thanks in advance for any information you can give.
