Creatinine of 6.0 and being under dialysis is indicative that your mother is having end stage renal disease.

The cause of the renal failure can be chronic diseases like Hypertension, diabetes mellitus, recurrent urinary infections, renal damage due to hydronephrosis, or any other issues.

With the current condition described , the survival of the patient may only be with Dialysis. But keeping long term considerations, the condition is not going to improve and the patient may need the procedure again and again in future.

The procedure may involve a degree of discomfort, but it allows the person to live a bit longer.
