Back in November 2006 my Mom went into acute Kidney failure suddenly and went on dyalisis for a month, her kidneys came back to full function and ever since then she has been very sick 2 or 3 times a month. Her symptoms are Extreme fatigue, a red rash appears over the nose and cheeks, muscle aches. vomiting and nausea. feeling so sick cannot get out of bed for a day or two. Extreme pressure in the head and behind the eyes. This comes on very slowly and lasts between 24 to 48 hours. The next day to follow extremely drained and fatigued. Episodes range from mild to very severe. Ever since the kidney failure she has noticed losing her hair and constant cancer sores in the mouth. She has been to many Doctors and not one of them can seem to figure out what is going on and her Kidney Doctor has referred her to an internest, not yet seen...Wonder if you can shed any light on this......

If she has a butterfly rash (rash across her nose and cheeks) the doctor should have noticed this and tested for lupus. One of the main sysmptoms of lupus is joint pain. You mentioned muscle aches but not joint aches. Some of the other symptoms you listed- fatigue, nausea, hair loss- are all symptoms of lupus. If the doctor has not yet considered lupus I would certainly mention it to him/her.
