Q: Kaylee's Sick :(

She's only ever been sick like twice in her life so this is hard on me, & on top of it all I have the same exact thing she has so I'm feeling like crap too. It's just an awful headcold so far, we have appointments at 3:45 tomorrow to get checked out. I do have a question though.. She's eating fine but won't drink *anything*. She has never ever refused her milk before, she won't take her juice, water, I even tried chocolate milk. She won't take any of it. Shane's going to pick up some popsicles before he goes into work & bring them back, I can't think of any ways to get fluids into her though. Any ideas?

I'll have Shane pick up some Gatorade too, right after I posted this she started drinking a little of her water. I have a couple juice boxes but she doesn't get how to suck out of the straw. Phew I hope we feel better too, this is getting the best of me.

is she coughing at all?

If so, she shouldn't be drinking milk anyways. Oni's Dr, both with her R.S.V *&* R.A.D told us NO MILK!

It makes the phlegm thicher and harder for them to break up.

Def dry the popsicles. Even if it isn't the pedialyte, as long as it's something!
Maybe even offer her some ice chips! (bang some ice cubes in a towel with a tenderizer!)

I really hope yall get better soon! I hate when Oni's sick!!

Yeah, she's coughing, I didn't know that about milk til yesterday so I'm glad she wasn't taking it. She's still been doing real good eating & she'll take a few sips of her gatorade here & there. Our doc appts are today & right after that we're going to look at house #3 so I'll update when we get home. In the meantime I still feel like total crap & Kaylee's sneezing & coughing more Sad My poor baby.

They recommend propping up her head at night. A vicks vaporizer may work wonders too...for you both.
I don't think they recommend giving babies any medications.

The best thing you can give her that works like cough syrup is honey. Give her a few spoons throughout the day and one before bed time. And if you have a phone book put it under neath her crib matress to prop her head up. Also, a humidifier in her room will help.

I have a couple humidifiers, I'll have to pull them out of the closet.

I can try propping her mattress up but she's a crazy sleeper so I don't know how long she would stay the way I want her to. I wish she was still tiny enough so she could fit in her bassinette!
