just diagnosed with squamous cell cancer Posted: 03-24-08 10:54am
it covers an area the size of your foot in
his groin area.
he has kept it secret for over a year.
we were having alot of marital problems
alot due to his apparent infidelities.
So I never knew this was going on aswell.
I havent been with him that way for ?
years.
He has venerial warts and this mess
aswell.
He works in a chemical business.
I was about to leave him but because we
have a daughter I am trying to do the
right thing .
He was told this problem hasnt spread to
hislimph nodes or prostate yet but it has
begun to cover the scotum.
Can anyone shed light on what we are about
to go threw

Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most
common form of skin cancer (arises from
cells that compose most of the upper layer
of the skin)
Was the groin area the first place cancer
originated from or it was first manifested
as penile cancer?

..........thankyou for
replying...........there were 2 ? pallops
that appeared years ago.........one
smaller at the base of the penis and a
huge one he had off to the side ...I
understand they were called pallops now
from talking to doctors...............the
bigger one now that I am seeing the area
with a doctor , has gone...........he has
said it ? ripped off .I think he pulled it
off...........and it has moved down his
leg to inbetween his leggs in a
point............the beginning area seems
to be where the large one was and is
nolonger now it's a huge pankake red shape
pointing to inbetween his
leggs...................I found out
something interesting though.way back in
his family history he has this cancer.a
great grandfather had this starting in his
bowel.moving to another internal organ
then to the groin area then in his great
grandfather it went to his brain and
killed
him...............................we are
now after the first appointment and are
now going into chemo..................the
thing I have seen and hes said as well
this pankake area has this bumpy area in
3/4rs of the center area and in that
centr is where they took a biopsy.it
raises somedays and falls like a massive
infection is growing in it.he is now on 2
tyres of antibacterial medicine - one is
an anti fungle one is an antibacterial.and
they have upped the pain medication to
morifine.....................he is totally
in bed everyday now and the last 3 days
has diaria.........it's wed. of the week
and thurs we are taking him to the chemo
place for the first
time.................it's been2 weeks of
waiting ? I don't get whywe aren't already
doing chemo?..................also the
first doctor said we couldn't get surgery
because it's so high on his
leg..........does that meen they have
already written him off.............? I'm
not a quitter !....... I'm not the most
knowledgeable person about this topic by a
long shot and I don't have a million
dollars to find someone who is
.............but I'm hoping someone out
there does know and might be able to help
I appreciate any input anyone
can offer.........................
The first doctor did tell us alot and was
awsum but his whole underlying tone was
just sit back and let it
happen............I'm not prepared to
watch him die..............it may happen
in the end.and I really don't have my head
around that yet.but I'll tell ya something
..........
it's going to be one hell of a
fight..........
thank you again,
michele

always hid the area.then hez been telling
the doctors he ripped one off.looks like

are now booked for chemo and are on a 24
hour notice calling ? proceedure.i just
dont know if its the right treatment but

Hello, Michele! Posted: 04-14-08 04:31am
Did you husband start receiving chemo?
Was he suggested radiotherapy? Does his
cancer looks like non healing ulcer?
96 to 97 percent of SCCs are localized,
and, when are identified early and treated
promptly, the prognosis is good. Squamous
cell carcinoma can grow quickly and can be
resistant to treatment or locally
aggressive, damaging healthy skin around
it, sometimes even reaching into bone and
cartilage.

I'm very sorry you are going through such
a tough time, but, I'm amazed by your
strength and courage (I hope your husband
recognizes and sees what you are doing for
him)
Has the tumor spread?
Was he a candidate for surgery?

thank you , we have just recently finished
his second round and we were having a
tough time getting him out of a fever
spiking 103 down to 98 back up to 101- so
brought him into the hospital we hear his
whitebloodcell count is under 100 and were
in trouble . he has been there for 3 days
and I think hez comming home today. one
thing I did find out in the emergency room
as we waited in Mapleridge hospital as
some doctor making his rounds comes in
with a smile telling us my husband is
palative care apparently- first time we
were told this since his first 2 rounds of
chemo had shrunk his cancer so much we
thought we were doing good- this gremlin
doctor tells us oh no hes palitive and as
a result we should think about life
support and dieing- WHAT THE HELL? as this
doctor tells us with a smile jumping and
joking around and asks us to call him
frank? because hes frank? I think my heart
fell on the floor . I said my yhusband and
I didt know that - he goes well smile now
you do.......and they in the hospital will
give us filgrastin or g-csf but the cancer
clinic will not because its too expencive
- so now we werent worth the $ we are ttly
covered with medical care here in canada
and should never of missed that thank god
after he got it in the hospital hes almost
back to normal- .and I appologize for my
spelling trying to get all info out
here..............I am the total rookie
when it comes to all of this but with such
a bad experience with a doctor when my
daughter was young I am warry and I ask
now and thank god we came across this
gremlin in the emergency room and there is
an internet or my husband could of died in
his bed the other
day...........................I will
continue to fight this and get what ever I
can for him ..AND THANK GOD FOR THE
INTERNET AS MUCH AS DOCTORS TELL YOU ITS A
PAIN IN THE ASS......the only reason we
have gotten as far as we have is because I
hear a little and dig
alot......................................
..............we will beat this
on and just to give some strength to other
people going threw this about employers my
husbands work has him off and dont care
will go to the ends of the earth to help-
really good people - 10 min. after I
letpeople know my husband was diagnosed
with cancer I was asked to step down out
of my job and was reciently let go from my
mgmt position so I could as they said
take better care of him.....it happened
fri. I drove from loosing my job over
this to the hospital with my daughter and
my husband to admit him. sat. he stays in
the hospital .I cried all night sat. its
Sun. morning 10am and were getting ready
to hopefully go get
him........................mon. I am
reporting my work for rongful dismissal
and harrassment and setting up with a
family laywer to sue their asses off. and
by fri. trust me I will be employed.
To all those people who get hit with this
and being faced with being alone
................the most powerful thing I
can say to any of you is not to give up
and NEVER be riteen off by anyone whether
its your work or doctors who rite you off
to die .........................NEVER SAY
DIE.................. and I really can't
put a stronger case of the odds stacked
against you as I think I have
here................one time years ago in
buz. a man who knew me very well said
Michele your like the energizer bunny you
never give up and you never say die...you
might not get there right away but
eventually you always
do.........................he was
right..............I dare you all to step
to the plate - ask questions and never
settle with no..........I simply dare you
