I recently went to the doctor for a
checkup, afraid that she would tell my
mother the few things that a 17 year old
doesn't want her mom to know I questioned
whether or not to tell her the truth.
Thinking that there was some kind of
doctor patient privilege I told her
anyway. She in turn told my mom. Was
she wrong, or is it okay because i'm only
17?

You have bad parents to begin with. A
good parent would of made sure your not
even in this situation. And why your even
in this situation is your not close to
your father. But it's life, so good luck.

Hello, well my daughter was having some
stomach problems so I took her to the
doctor I stepped out of the room for her
to exam her and was called back in when
she was done my daughter was 16 at the
time. The doctor refered us to a ob/gyn.
At there office I made it a point to stay
and talk with the doc before he examed her
and my daughter was asked if she has had
intercourse right in front of me. She was
quiet for a sec and looked at me and said
yes I have I was stunned not to mention
hurt but at any rate, I later found out
that when she was at the first doctor and
I wasnt in the room she was asked that
same question and she told her yes then
too but I had no clue. When I called the
docs office and asked why I wasnt told
there response was..If the parent asks the
doctor then yes they can tell you but will
never offer the information if there not
asked. So thats how it is here not sure
about where you are..And phil what does
that have to do with anyhting?????

I think if you are a minor, the doctors can
tell your parents anything that is
pertinant to your treatment.If sexual
activity might have something to do with
your problem, than I think the doctor is
within the law.Next time, you might want to
see a doctor on your own, without your mom
around.Patty
