Jones Fracture

I have had pain in the top of my 5th metatarsal for about 3 months. It's really only when I apply pressure to the area - I can walk comfortably but occasionally I can feel a bit of minor discomfort. When I apply pressure with my fingers it hurts - but it has to be in a very specific location. At times when i'm in bed at night its uncomfortable but has never been to the point where it keeps me up. I can walk easily. If i flex my foot or twist it from side to side, there is discomfort in the location. Could this still be a jones fracture? - Most of what I read sounds as though people with this type of injury are unable to walk at all - but my pain is in exactly this area.

The only thing I can think of doing differently lately is that I have changed jobs and our flooring is VERY hard - basically a concrete floor with very thin unpadded carpet. It's a large space of I do walk on it a great deal. Could it be Jones?

Its not impossible but like you said if you have a broken bone in your foot its pretty hard to walk on it your pain could be the site of a torn ligament, did you injure your foot recently? I am not sure what i would do a doctor would probably say dont worry abou it you could try a podiatrist but they may try and sell you a pair of orthotics for 500 $.
