I can't seem to find an answer to this. Does anyone know if this test be done if you are NOT having an attack at the time? I know crystals can dissolve, but am wondering if under a microscope, they could still pick up traces. I would hate to go through the pain of having a needle stuck in foot if it was not necessary.

Thanks for the help!
