Q: jaw shaving surgery
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 1st, 2008
My jaw/chin line is uneven and I am willing to do anything to fix it, do you think it would be a good and safe idea for me to undergo jaw shaving surgery? Has anyone died from this procedure before?
Thank you, hope to hear from you soon.

This question needs an expert opinion from a plastic surgeon or maxilo-facial surgeon.

Jaw shaving surgrey
I just had my jaw shaved for vanity reasons( wanted a more feminine jawline as I felted it looked too square). Like yourself I went online everywhere and found little information on this procedure in the US. I found a doctor ( Dr. Edward Miranda)in San Francisco that has a great deal of experience with this. I sit here now recovering as it's day number 13 for me. My doctor and I both agree I've been very lucky! It's been smooth healing and little to zero pain. Actually I stopped taking the pain killers two days later as they effected my body in a bad way( constipated etc). I have had breat implants and felt that was way more painful ( had small B went to D and was under the muscle). If you decide to go through with this - find the best doctor in your area. As of right now...it's been worth every penny for me.

Good luck!
