Your jaw popping is tmj. It means that you are either clenching or grinding your teeth at night. It's very common for women of child bearing age I was told by my specialist. Anyway, right now is a good time to tackle it as it isn't a serious problem. My locked shut on me for six weeks and that was awful. I lost a lot of weight and they talked about surgery before it unlocked on it's own.

Fixing it at this point is relatively easy and inexpensive. Just go down to Target or wherever and buy a night guard. Wear it every night until it stops and start wearing it again anytime you need it.

You are so young to have TMJ, although it still could be that. If you are in pain you really should see a dentist or preferably an ENT to rule out anything more serious. My nephew had cysts in his gum when he was 18 and it caused a lot of problems. It was fast growing and dangerous. He had them removed in time and is fine now. Not to scare you, that probably isn't what you have, but just a reminder to go see a doctor and not consult a forum.
