please i need some advice.. i would go to a doctor, but my health insurance isn't set up yet. A few days ago I woke up and i didn't notice it right away but when i went on break that morniing and was eating my jaw was hurting so bad that tears came to my eyes. its only when i eat or close my jaw. it not only hurts really bad but it pops in and out. and when i try to open my mouth open wide it pops and does it again when i try to close it. idk if it's that serious or not thats why i was asking to make sure i dont need to see someone right away. i dont know of anything that could have made it this way.. one night i did accidentally get hit and i got a bloody lip on the same side of my mouth that my jaw hurts but idk if thats it because it started hurting a little bit after that even happened. its on my left side. if anyone has aany advice please let me know.. ive never had a problem with my jaw before. Sounds like you may suffer from TMJ, Temporomandibular Joint and Muscle Disorder. For temporary relief you could try sleeping with a sports mouth guard or a mouth guard used to keep a person from grinding their teeth while they sleep. I believe this keeps the jaw in proper alignment. If this does not help, you can go online to try and find a TMJ night mouth guard. If all else fails, you will need to see a doctor or dentist for your problem.

I agree, TMJ i have it.
I have a bite plate, you likely grind your teeth while sleeping. I heard you can buy disposable mouth guards, well here in Canada, for like $2.00. Try a sports store and see if someone can check on you through the night to confirm. You can break your teeth too. I have to sleep with mine every night, because I have broken my teeth. Hope this helps.
