Hi there

I suffer from what I think is tmj but I am not sure anymore if that is what I have as the pain is very weird...some days I am fine and sometimes I can go months without any pain..right now I am in terriable pain and not even Tylenol 3's are hitting the pain...I don't think I have a cavity as I can eat and chew food even sugary foods and it dosen't hurt me, it actually feels better when I chew food on the sore side of my mouth. I am taking an antinflammitory right now and not even that seems to touch the pain...so I guess what I am trying to find out is what could be causing me so much pain and grief....

Hi there

Yes, you seem to be having a TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) problem.
The TMJ consist out of 5 muscles, namely the masseter, buccinator, temporalis, and internal and external pterygoids.
These muscles allow the up and down motion, forward and backward motion and left to right motion in chewing.
These muscles work on the same meridian energy as the stomach and are often involved in allergic reactions.
The most allergenic food is dairy, followed by egg, peanuts, potato, MSG, food colouring, and total avoidance of the allergen is needed to overcome this problem. One thing is for sure, it is NOT caused by a lack of Tylenol 3's.

Massage the points next to the spine at T2 and T3 level (high upper back) and massaging points between the 2nd and 3rd ribs next to the sternum will reset the jaw muscles.

Good luck

Kinetico
